The latest NASA lander on Mars has started digging in the red planet

Scientists say the last NASA lander on Mars began digging the red planet, but that he encountered some difficulties.

The German Aerospace Center announced yesterday that its drill tool on the InSight lander had struck what appeared to be some stones. He only managed to dig between 18 and 50 centimeters, far from the goal of the first poll.

Over time, the team aims for a depth of up to 5m, which would set a record for another world. The LG is digging deep to measure the internal temperature of Mars.

InSight landed on Mars last November. Flight controllers from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California sent orders to the LG Thursday to start digging.
