Cops broke movie monster beating old woman in Bronx subway
"The subject wanted for the brutal attack of an elderly woman on the subway is under custody. The victim has been cared for and released from the hospital and is receiving the necessary care, advocacy and support, "Detective Chief Dermot Shea said Saturday.
Charges are pending against the man, whose name was not immediately published.
The viral video shows the man who attacks the 78-year-old victim while sitting on a No. 2 train heading north around 3 am on March 10, police said.
She tried to defend herself while her abuser was kicking her in the face and body – while wild boars were being heard screaming in the background, but were not doing anything to intervene.
While the train was stopped on Nereid Avenue, the man shouted something to his victim before turning around, looking at the camera and shouting: "WorldStar that, my na." – referring to the popular social media page filled with videos. He then got off the train.
