Chicago police announced in a press release that Emily Petronella had been charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer, armed violence while using a firearm , aggravated theft against a peace officer and having distributed more than 5,000 grams of cannabis as a result of the incident.

The officers were serving a search warrant just before 7:30 pm in the house of a neighborhood on the west side of the city when Petronella was reported to have opened fire by a back door, police said.
