A newlywed couple in Texas was killed in a car accident after leaving the courthouse following their wedding ceremony on Friday. Their car collided with a van, killing them both, reported KFDM, a CBS News affiliate.

Harley Morgan, 19, and Rhiannon Boudreaux, 20, merge on a highway in Orange, Texas, when they collided with a truck towing a trailer carrying a tractor, the Orange Police Department said .

The accident occurred a few minutes after the two wishes exchanged. The sister and mother of the groom were behind the couple 's car and witnessed the accident.

"They had just got married," Morgan's mother, Kennia, told KFDM. "They have not even been married for five minutes."

Morgan was driving a 2004 Chevrolet, which collided with a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck, police said. The couple were leaving the private wing of Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton when the vehicles collided.

"These two babies," Kennia Morgan said. "The only thing they wanted was to get married and start their lives, they had so many dreams."

Morgan and Boudreaux died on the scene. The man driving the van was unscathed.

Kennia tried to save the couple by trying to get both men out of the car.

"I watched my baby die," she said. "I still carry my son's blood because I was doing my best to get him out of the car."

The couple planned a big Christmas wedding for family and friends in December, but did not want to wait until then to formalize their union.

"I have witnessed my worst nightmare," Kennia said. "It's an image that will haunt me the rest of my life, I will not forget it will never leave, I'll see this truck hit my baby and kill him every night of my life, the rest from the time that I am on the earth. "
