A man faces a charge of driving under the influence of his traffic after hitting a policeman while he was driving a scooter and then crashed into a car parked in the downtown area. Denver Saturday, according to officials.
The Denver Police Department said on Twitter that the incident occurred around 5:30 pm at the intersection of 21st Street and Market Street near Coors Field.
The scooter struck a police officer who was directing traffic at the intersection before hitting a parked vehicle.

Kurt Barnes, a spokesman for the Denver Police, told FOX31 that while some see scooters as a quick means of transportation while passing from one to the other, he warned that people could still get a DUI while consuming them under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
"Scooters are becoming more prevalent, so we're seeing more DUIs," Barnes told KMGH-TV.

Officials said that the scooter operator, who was not identified, had been injured and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
"The scooter operator has been charged with alcohol," the police said.

Barnes told FOX31 that the officer had not been injured during the incident.
