BAYSIDE, Wisconsin – Authorities say 14 people were rescued from a night-long fire that destroyed a 62-unit apartment building in the Milwaukee area. Three people suffered minor injuries.
Officials from the North Shore Fire and Rescue Department announced that several calls to 911 occurred around 12:15 pm Saturday, reporting on several floors of White Oaks flats in Bayside, about 11 miles north of Milwaukee. Most of the people saved were elderly people.

According to officials, three people, including a firefighter, were reportedly taken to the hospital.
According to Fire Chief Robert Whitaker, the fire started on an upper floor and quickly spread across the building. He says that the fact that all the occupants are taken into account is "miraculous".
