A man from Florida had a "smart" idea as Hurricane Dorian threatened to enter the region.
Patrick Eldridge of Jacksonville told CBS News that he had parked his smart car in his kitchen Tuesday morning to protect it from the winds and floods of Dorian.
"[My] My wife was impressed by the fact that I was right to be able to enter the kitchen, "Eldridge told the network.
His wife, Jessica, posted a series of images of the tiny black car perfectly parked in the room.
"My husband was worried that his car would be washed away and my car was in the garage," Jessica posted on Facebook.
The photos quickly became viral, with 66,000 shares on Thursday morning.
It turned out that Florida had largely avoided the shock of the storm, but it had strong gusts of wind and heavy rains on Wednesday.
Eldridge removed the car from the kitchen and parked it outside, as shown by the video posted on YouTube by his wife.
The Bahamas was hit hard by the storm, which left at least 20 dead and many areas in ruins.
The hurricane, recently reinforced by a Category 3 storm, began Thursday to hit South Carolina.
The system, which withstands sustained winds of 115 mph, is expected to trigger storm surges up to 6 feet, as well as up to 20 inches of rain while traveling at 8 mph on a Road leading to North Carolina until Friday, officials said.
