HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A girl has died of flu in the Houston area.
The Houston Department of Health announced Friday that she was between the ages of 5 and 17, that she was suffering from pre-existing conditions and several organs.
Officials said the girl was hospitalized most of last month and died last week of February.
The girl was tested positive for influenza B after a sterile smear, the health department said.
