A Pakistani army soldier was shot dead by a girl in Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a few days ago after forcibly entering a house to sexually harass women.
According to journalist Taha Siddiqui, the soldiers decided burst into a house at night that was inhabited only by women. All the men would have gone to other cities to find a job.
The women claimed that Pakistani army soldiers, after entering their homes, began sexually harassing them. A girl would then have found a gun and opened fire on the soldiers who had killed one of them.
The soldier was reportedly attached to Mohmand's rifles and the entrance to the house was not part of any search operation.
After the incident, residents sought justice for the alleged sexual harassment of women. Similar incidents would have occurred in the past and the Pakistani army would have succeeded in silencing them.
A similar incident reportedly occurred in Waziristan province, where a woman spoke publicly against sexual harassment by Pakistani soldiers.
