A guy was really at the Bethesda press conference last night

E3 2019It is the hour of the biggest game show of the year. We have articles, videos, podcasts and maybe even a GIF or two.

Last night's Bethesda press conference was full of interesting announcements like Eternal Doom The details and Arkane's new game Deathloop. It was also much noisier than previous conferences. It's especially good: the fans have something to be excited about. At least one guy loved it. To quote it: "YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!"

Part of the pleasure of having a general admission to press conferences is to elicit a raw reaction from enthusiastic fans. Without enthusiastic players and enthusiastic developers, we would not have liked Keanu Reeves to tell the crowd that they are breathtaking at the Microsoft presentation. It's nice to see real people and a real enthusiasm. Hell, the guy who shouted at Reeves apparently had a free copy of Cyberpunk 2077.

What's the Bethesda man, terrifyingly enthralling, loved? He loved dragons. He liked being the most important part of Tamriel. He liked having more servers. He loved necromancers. He loved bearded men walking on stage. He liked to know that Deathloop was "really fucking cool." We should all be fortunate to have a man who loves everything we do as much as this mysterious man loved everything about Bethesda. You can watch this fantastic montage of Twitter theSirToasty user.

The presenters were caught between amused and a little annoyed. Zenimax Online's studio director, Matt Firor, found that many of his ads had been interrupted by noisy "WOOOOs" and "YEEEEEAAAAHs". This mysterious man was he a studio employee The Elder Scrolls Online on the scene? Was he just a mega fan? I do not know; I was not there to investigate. Anyway, these oops and hollers have danced the line between charm and little disruptive.

Fan enthusiasm is not a bad thing. Part of the magic of E3 (as it is) comes from the unbridled enthusiasm of the public, both in person and around the world. Will I remember the Youngblood trailer or details about Eternal DoomThe multiplayer mode of Demons vs. Doomslayer? Not really. But I will remember that guy shouting "YEEEEEEEEAAAAHHH!
