The era of foldable phone has had a difficult start. So, when rumors began to swirl that Moto was going to revive the Razr and give it a brave appearance, it seemed at best a risky proposition. But just recently, a so-called leaked image of this Razr reboot hit the goal, and some of these fears were quickly appeased, because at least from this picture, the new Razr looks really slippery.
The photo leak, which was first discovered by SlashLeaks, shows a phone that looks like a very faithful replica of the hugely popular Flip phone since the early 2000s, except that instead of having a screen at the top and a T9 keyboard underneath, the inside of the new Razr has been updated with a new flexible screen that covers the entire length of the phone.
It seems that Moto has even kept the Chin a bit bulky but distinct from the Razr, which actually looks a little thicker than you would find on an original Razr. At the top of the screen, a new cutout with notch for the new Razr's headset. However, there does not seem to be a selfie camera inside the phone, at least not an immediately identifiable camera, which would certainly be a bold choice.
From what we heard during the preparation of the new version of Razr, there is a good chance that this is the end product. Motorola did not immediately return Gizmodo's request for comment.
The internal screen dimensions of the rebooted Razr also seem to find a good balance between foldability and size, with the phone retaining something close to the traditional 18: 9 or 21: 9 aspect ratio. This could make the new Razr less annoying to use than other flexible phones like the Galaxy Fold, which displays an aspect ratio of 4.2: 3, and the Huawei Mate X, which has a format ratio of 8: 7.1 even more straight.
But the most interesting thing about the picture of Razr disclosed, given the problems faced by Samsung with the Galaxy Fold, is the hinge in the middle of the phone that looks much finer than anything we've seen so far. now on a foldable phone.
Not only is the durability of foldable phones cause a lot of concern, but the biggest concern of Razr is that, if it features a slot similar to the one you have on the Galaxy Fold, this could be detrimental to the slim dimensions and apparently quite cumbersome of the phone. The other important feature that this filtered image does not show is if the new Razr has a screen on the outside of the phone, like the original. However, based on the similarity of the restarted Razr design compared to the original model, this seems to be a safe bet.
However, given the previous rumors that the Moto Razr restart could cost around $ 1,500, that's a lot to ask. But based only on what we saw in this picture, if (and it's a big one) Moto can create a foldable Razr that looks like this and works as advertised, even with a high price, there is bound to be a handful from people interested in a reinvented flip phone upgraded with the best technologies from 2019.
