The surgeons managed to remove an 11-pound tumor from the head of a man who had finally asked for help for the mass that had been growing for 20 years. The patient, identified only as a man in India named Sakthivel, would have been afraid to see a doctor after the death of his brother during a previous surgery, reported the SWNS.

But Mass began to restrict the movement of the 31-year-old man and had a considerable impact on his daily life, prompting him to ask for help.
The tumor weighed 11 pounds and took 10 hours to remove.

"The patient arrived at our hospital the second week of May with huge head growth and neck movement restrictions," said Dr. J. Srisaravanan, a Sakthivel neurosurgeon at the Rajaji government hospital.
Srisaravanan, who conducted the 10-hour surgery to remove the tumor, said the cost also prevented his patient from seeking prior treatment.
Sakthivel, photographed with his surgeons, would be fine.

"The size of the tumor was almost equal to that of his head," he told reporters. "I've never encountered such a big head tumor in a 15-year career in neurosurgery."
