GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. – The man from South Carolina who was widely praised for the purchase of $ 540 Girl Scout cookies was arrested Tuesday by officials of the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to the WYFF.
Detric Lee McGowan, 46, from Piedmont, South Carolina, was cited in a 21 – page indictment, along with other people, for conspiring to import and possess for the purpose of distributing heroin, cocaine and fentanyl.
McGowan is also one of four named suspects in the indictment for allegedly plotting to smuggle more than a million dollars out of the United States, officials said. DEA.
McGowan has received wide recognition after the publication of a viral publication on Facebook. According to the Facebook message, which was deleted, McGowan stopped at the girls' cookies booth and bought seven boxes of cookies; he gave $ 40 to the girls and told them to keep the change.
