The phenomenon was captured on camera by the Heller and Jung Space Observatory early Monday as it entered Earth’s atmosphere.
The center’s surveillance system, located in the town of Taquara, recorded the meteor explosion about 742 km near the border between Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay at around 2:31 a.m. local time.
