‘A Million Little Things’ Premiere Recap: Season 3, Episode 1

After a long and painful wait, A million little things Fans Thursday got the answer to the question who had been lying there, bleeding on the sidewalk since March:

Did that hit-and-run in the Season 2 finale kill Eddie?

Fortunately, the answer is no. In the Season 3 opener, after strangers administer CPR and call an ambulance, Theo’s father spends a bunch of hours touching and going into the hospital’s intensive care unit before wake up and recognize Katherine and their son. But that’s not all good news: When Theo climbs onto his father’s hospital bed, it becomes clear that Eddie has no feeling in his legs.

Fast forward a month and Eddie is released. He is in a good mood but realizes that the road ahead will be difficult: he is unable to walk and has to use a wheelchair to get around. if you said you couldn’t do this anymore, ”he said to Katherine as he walked home.

They built ramps to the front and back entrances to the house, which touches Eddie. But he’s almost lost when Katherine leads him through the house to the backyard, where everything is set up for them to finally renew their vows as they were supposed to on the night of her hit-and-run.

So they go through the ceremony. In his vows (which were written before the accident), Eddie admits he broke their original marriage pact – cut Delilah looking grief-stricken (heh) – but that he’s grateful for what they’ve got. built as a result. He starts to cry a little as he refers to Jon’s ‘Millions of Little Things’ toast and says, “To me, it’s the people holding your hand as you take a million small steps in the right direction.” . ” The whole shebang ends on a high note, with Eddie saying he can overcome anything thanks to the love he and Katherine share. And when they kiss, everyone applauds.

Across the street, a man in a red van watches the group from a distance. He’s Alex’s father, the woman Eddie thinks he might have been involved with all those years ago. In other news:

a-million-little-things-premiere-recap-season-3-episode-1* Maggie’s new roommate in Oxford is a guy named Jamie (played by You are the worst‘s Chris Geere) with whom she has a very delicate first meeting.

* Gary and Darcy are going strong, but we learn that he never told her he went to the airport to see Maggie before she left. When she gently confronts him with this fact, he apologizes, and they seem to go without it quite easily.

* Fresh out of their heartbreak with Eve, Rome and Regina have the opportunity to adopt a different baby who was born in another part of the state the night of Eddie’s accident. When Katherine gives them her blessing to deal with it, Rome deeply wants to move forward and try to put the loss of their potential son behind them. But Regina can’t change her feelings that easily, and Rome ends up telling the social worker that they won’t be adopting this new child. In short: things are not going well between R&R.
