Gamescom 2019 is underway and, following numerous announcements, a new trailer for the upcoming Predator: Hunting Grounds online multiplayer game was launched in 2020 on PlayStation 4.
The trailer opens with Little Richard's "Long Tall Sally", marking a strange juxtaposition of treachery that Fireteam is about to face. As the team evolves into a dense forest to neutralize its targets, the Predator stands over the branches of a tree, jumping between the leaves while wreaking havoc with its high-tech weaponry. Predator: Hunting Grounds appears to feature a goal-based tactical multiplayer mode, wrapped in a hungry-turned-hunter-hunter asymmetric frenzy.
The PlayStation closed the curtain on Predator: Hunting Grounds in May 2019. Developed on Friday the 13th: IllFonic, the creator of the game, Predator: Hunting Grounds is an online multiplayer 4v1 game where everyone – including the hunter holder – is a player – controlled like Evolve from Turtle Rock Studios. IllFonic CEO Charles Brungardt said Predator: Hunting Grounds "was still relatively early in development," but he assured that new updates are forthcoming.
