After an eight-year quest, an amateur astronomer managed to capture with a perfect photograph the exact moment when the International Space Station (ISS) passed the moon.
Ken Lawson of Geraldton, Western Australia, spent nearly 10 years waiting for all the conditions to come together to take his great picture.
The satellite gravitates around the Earth about 15 times a day at a speed of about 28,000 km / h. In spite of the regularity of this crossing, the alignment never appeared to the amateurs of photography.
The ideal moment finally arrived at the beginning of this month when the satellite crossed the moon with its way in the middle of its hometown.
After being alerted of the event by the CalSky website, which sends out notifications about transits, Lawson installed his trusty standard Canon camera and clicked on the capture button at the right time.
"You must be exactly in the right place at the right time and pray to the gods that everything goes well and you get the hang of it" He explained to ABC News in Australia.
"It's so ephemeral and you can capture it in time forever – it's really amazing."
