Jackson, 32, is doing his Ph.D. in Solar Physics at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
"I'm a bit like a space weather girl," she says. "I will use my knowledge of mathematics to try to predict solar flares and radiation belts."
It's a paid internship, but moving out is expensive. Jackson said that she should fly to Texas with her daughter Jewel Henry, find an apartment, rent a car and continue paying her bills at home, so that she can live after the internship.
"It's amazing, an incredible opportunity, a dream of a lifetime," Jackson said. "I just did not know how I would do it."
"I did not want her to refuse this opportunity just because she could not go," Fuller said. "I knew how much it meant to her."

Fuller said she had never tried crowdfunding before, but it worked. The campaign stopped receiving donations after one day because it exceeded the $ 8,000 goal.
"I have received incredible support from all over the world," Jackson said.
Jackson hopes to have completed his PhD in 2022 and is considering a position as a professor-researcher at an Atlanta university.
"I will always teach, I will always teach, even if it is part-time, I will always be a university teacher, whether in mathematics or physics," she said.
But she hopes that NASA will also be part of her future.
"If I have the opportunity, I would absolutely love to work for NASA and [my] The ultimate goal is to reach the International Space Station. If I could do it in any way, I would certainly take those steps to make that happen, "she said.
"It will be a difficult thing to do, but what I've done so far has been difficult, so it's not impossible for me to happen."
