A British teenager is now blind after having lived for years with a diet of French fries, pringles and ham.
The Daily Mail reports that the 19-year-old lived on fries, pringles and processed ham and did not eat vegetables or fruit for a decade. He began to lose sight at the age of 14 due to a condition called nutritional optic neuropathy because the lack of nutrients had caused him nerve damage at the back eyes. His diet led him to develop a deficiency of important vitamins such as vitamin B12, copper and vitamin D.
He says that his condition left him alone and that the doctors did not advise him to change his diet.
"I became very isolated. When I was little, I went out and played football with my friends. I'm too scared to do it now. When I asked for help, they did not listen to me. "

Dr. Denize Atan said in a statement that the young man was able to move through peripheral vision, but that his optic nerve was permanently damaged and that he had a blind zone in the middle of the eyes.
"Doctors and families need to know that poor nutrition and pringles all day do not just affect your heart and do not lead to obesity. It can also affect vision. "
