LIBERTYVILLE, IL – A Gurnee teenager is hospitalized at the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and his parents tell WLS that this is due to a pulmonary infection caused by a vaping. According to the dispatch, the family of 18-year-old Adam Hergenreder said his first symptoms were two days of "uncontrollable vomiting" and that he had almost failed to go to the hospital. . The teenager claims to have used about half a capsule of Juul a day in the last 18 months.
According to his doctors, Hergenreder can not go home before he can breathe on his own, and months of treatment will follow, WLS reported. But being in the hospital does not prevent the family from attacking the vaping community, according to WLS.
Hergenreder told WLS that he did not know what nicotine was, nor what was the vape juice.
