A Massachusetts woman decided to add lottery tickets to her day's shopping as she began shopping at Natick Mall over the weekend, eventually winning a $ 4 million prize.
Neang Peov, of Lowell, was having lunch with her husband, Brunith, in the food court, when she spotted the Happy Corner store and decided to try scratch tickets, according to a press release from the Massachusetts State Lottery.
After stripping her $ 100X "$ 100" instant ticket, she became the second winner of a $ 4 million prize in the state since the start of sales for the game on June 19, says the communicated.
She claimed the prize with her husband at the lottery headquarters Monday morning and chose the cash option for a one-time payment of $ 2.6 million (before taxes).
Peov told officials that she was planning on using the money to repay the couple's mortgage and investing in retirement, according to the statement.
Happy Corner will receive a $ 40,000 bonus for the sale, the statement said. Three additional prizes of $ 4 million and 10 prizes of $ 1 million are still to be won in the "100X" game.
