Jayne Sharp told WATE that she had gone to the Jazzy Nail Bar in February and that a technician had stung her thumb.
Two hours after leaving the store, Sharpe says that her thumb started beating, and that she developed flu-like symptoms.
She had it checked and the official diagnosis was a flesh-eating bacteria.
Her nurse practitioner made sure to keep in touch, which Sharp thinks saved her life.
"I went home with a dose of pain medication so I slept, so I was very grateful to him for waking up to see how I felt – or would have slept. all night and the doctors said if I did not do it "I did not get to the ER when I did it – that I would not be there," Sharp explained.
After several surgeries, Sharp now misses a piece of his thumb.

"There are so many girls and guys going to the salons for manicuring and pedicure and they have no idea what can happen to them, often all day, because I can not do it all. feel with my arm and my hand, it reminds me I'm grateful to have experienced this while others do not, "said Sharp.
WATE reached out to Jazzy Nail Bar, but said the person answering the phone had hung up.
A spokesman for the national agency that inspects all salons each year and after filing complaints, said he inspected the Jazzy nail bar at that time and found no offense.
