ALPENA – Alpena first responders responded to a collision between two vehicles around 4 p.m. today at the intersection of Lockwood Street and Ninth Avenue.
The accident occurred in the busy area around the city detour due to the closure of the Bagley Street Bridge.
The accident involved a sedan, which struck a garbage truck, the car having sustained significant damage. The driver of the truck appeared to be unharmed, but it is not known at this time what injuries, if any, those in the car suffered.
