Additional Details Posted on COVID-19 Super POD Vaccination Site at Disneyland Resort

As we reported yesterday, Disneyland Resort has volunteered to host California’s first Super Point-of-Dispensing (POD) site. These sites are epicenters for large COVID-19 vaccinations. As vaccines begin to be distributed across the United States, large open areas are needed to set up sites for wide distribution.

In a recent press release, current President Andrew Do states:

The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD site – undertaking a monumental task in our vaccine distribution process.

The announcement was made via a Twitter message from the Orange County Health Care Agency.

There will be five of these POD sites in the region and will have the capacity to immunize thousands of residents daily. Currently, Orange County is part of distribution group 1a, which means residents over 75 are eligible to receive the vaccine.

The location defined for the Disneyland Resort POD site is the Toy Story parking lot, located south of Disneyland Park.

Supervisor Donald P. Wagner of the Third District States,

It’s important to vaccinate as many willing people as possible against COVID-19, and we need the space to do so. I thank Disneyland Resort and the City of Anaheim for stepping up their joint efforts to protect OC residents from the virus.

This is the first regional Super POD location announced by Orange County. There is also talk of Walt Disney World in Florida being used as a distribution site as well.
