Pokemon Quest – Review – Pokemon Quest Review

[ad_1]

I did not expect much from Pokemon Quest when I started playing it. This mobile spin-off has an adorable art style, but it seemed extremely simple on the surface. However, as I spent more time cultivating cubic Pokemon, Pokemon Quest's infectious and surprisingly deep Pokemon Quest personalization hooked on – but perhaps not in the most entertaining way.

The fight in Pokemon Quest is not the draw of this game to play, requiring little input and even offering a "self" button that makes it play itself. This may not seem like, but Pokemon Quest is closer to a puzzle game, challenging you to compose the perfect team for each expedition.

Pokémon has a variety of features that differentiate them from each other. Each has a different group of movements that he can learn, and each individual's movements can be arranged in a multitude of random ways. Each individual also has a Power Charms grid that determines which Power Stones can be attached to them, which ultimately determines how much HP and Attack will have. Finally, each species of Pokémon has a pool of nine different Bingo Bonuses, which are activated when the Charm Power Grid is filled

. All these elements, in addition to the movements of a Pokémon, are engraved in the stone. Which Pokemon to use, with what movement, and what pbadive abilities, has become addictive and fun. I've really enjoyed finding particularly powerful configurations, and seeing my teams fill up with challenging levels has given me a sense of pride and accomplishment.

However, trying to attract the right kind of Pokémon with the proper moving layout, the Power Charm grid, and the Bingo Bonus to do it was not as entertaining thanks to the huge RNG involved .

 Customization

You have to create recipes using the ingredients gained by completing shipments, and if you get a bad kind Pokémon, or the wrong Bingo Bonus, or the wrong layout, you have to go back to adventure to recreate these ingredients to try again. However, finally catching that perfect Pokemon with tons of potential has always provided a thrust of excitement.

Knowing how to do it without saving time and resources is half the battle, because Pokemon Quest does not do much to provide you with the information you need to succeed. The basic Pokemon RPGs do not require knowledge deepened hidden mechanisms to complement their campaigns. but Pokemon Quest is getting pretty hard that I needed to know its inner workings if I wanted to skillfully complete it, rather than grind a raised team. To avoid the tedious process of trial and error, I have constantly had an open Pokemon Quest wiki with specific recipes and other relevant information while playing.

Do not get me wrong, I loved tinkering and experimenting to find the perfect Pokemon team that would propel me to victory. But I did not like how, once I realized that a strategy would work, I needed a staggering grind and plenty of souls to get what I needed. I've literally had nightmares about how I've been unable to get my Shiny Alakazam to learn psychic because the process of teaching it is so unpredictable.

Grinding 101

Basically, you can "sacrifice" up to four Pokemon to one so that it has the opportunity to replace an existing move with a new one. However, this is not an exact science, as each Pokémon, depending on the level, type, and species, only grants a fraction of luck to the success of the game. # 39; drive. If that fails, these Pokémon are still lost. The only way to achieve a 100% chance of teaching a Pokémon to a new move is to sacrifice an exact Pokémon of the exact species, or to sacrifice four Pokémon each with a value of &. 39, at least 25% each.

 AlakazamMove

Assuming you already have an Alakazam, here are the steps to learn it psychically "effectively:"

  1. Collect 45 Bluk Bays 15 Apricorns, and 15 Fossils to Make Brain Food at the Cube in the Silver Pot to attract a medium level Abra, it takes about a pbad to reach 10-15 of an ingredient, if that
  2. Repeat the first step at least one more time to get a second Abra. Make sure one of the Abras is at least at level 33, but not more than 55, otherwise it's too difficult
  3. Sacrifice an Abra to the other to level it so that he becomes a Kadabra.
  4. Feed another Abra or another Pokemon, to raise Kadabra to the next level so that he becomes a Kadabra. an Alakazam
  5. In the Training Tab by Movement Sacrifice the new Alakazam to your favorite Alakazam and hope that he learns the Psychic. That's a 10 percent chance. Do not think of using Pokémon more easily to make sacrifices – you will have to use four at a time and you will probably still have a 50% chance of succeeding.
  6. You can also give up your favorite Alakazam to get a new Abra that has all the good features, evolve it into Kadabra, and prevent it from evolving to Alakazam to have a bigger chance to learn the psychic. No, you can not do that with Abra, because Abra can not learn the psychic. But you would not know unless you searched for it online.

It's a long way to go to get a really great Pokémon if you're unlucky, like me. Despite the frustrations, I kept playing. The grindy gameplay loop of looking for perfection is simply addictive, even if it's not so much fun, and the cute cherry Pokemon skin on this masochistic cake.

If you have the option to choose where to play Pokemon Quest, you are much better on a phone. It is not very comfortable to hold the switch with one hand and tap on the other, and when it is docked, you have to use a virtual slider to hit buttons that are too far apart for reach quickly. On top of that, I had problems recording the Switch when I had virtual buttons on the touch screen, but I never had this problem on the mobile.

I paid R393.00 for the expansion pack, and it sped up just enough for the Pokemon Quest grind to be tolerable. And it's a relief that neither of the two versions will allow you to spend more than R650.00, so Nintendo does not fish for big whales with this game. Without that, Pokemon and Power Inventory Management Stone would probably be a test.

The Verdict

Pokemon Quest can be a small distraction when it is broken up, but it is best to do it with a lot of patience. It's cute, and its systems are a lot deeper than they seem, but trying to build my perfect team has definitely made me a little crazy.
