TWO gins with county ties are vying for the best prizes at the prestigious Scottish Gin Awards.

NB Gin, who has already won several awards since his creation by his two husband Steve and Viv Muir five years ago, is nominated in the London Dry Gin of the Year category.

In the second annual awards, Mr. and Mrs. Muir hope their product will win the prize in the second edition of their competition – they were in the running for the same category last year but did not rank in the first three.

Next to them is the Botanic Wild Island gin distillery cup, from Colonsay Beverages.

Chris Nisbet of Humbie, David Johnston of Athelstaneford and Keith Bonnington of Longniddry launched the product in late 2016.

The Colonsay Brewery is also vying for the company 's Growth Year, while NB Distillery is one of three companies that aim to win the top prize in the Exporter category of the year. # 39; year.

The award for the Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year is the first prize of the evening and will be announced at the ceremony to be held in Glasgow on September 20th.
