The NPP Group's video game badyst Mat Piscatella was quick to predict the race to the top spot of the race to become the best-selling game of 2018, and tipped Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 ( that begins to have content very early on PS4, natch) to take over. If the data is correct, it will also be a record year for Sony, with God of War potentially becoming the best selling of the year.
After crunching the numbers, following the trends, and everything else, Piscatella came up with his top 10 of the best selling games of 2018, which is:
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
- Battlefield 5
- NBA 2K19
- Far Cry 5
- Madden NFL 2K18
- Fallout 76
- God of War
- Monster Hunter: World
- Spider -Man of Marvel
As you can see, the PS4 is looking like spinning heads on the market, with three exclusives (though Monster Hunter World will be released on PC in August) taking the latest places on the list. His success does not stop there. Piscatells estimates that the PS4's installation base will also exceed PS2 by 6% by the end of 2018, and the PS3 by a whopping 30%.
