Thousands of people marched on the beaches of English Bay to attend the first night of the Vancouver Celebration of Light fireworks festival

The festival features three countries staging 25-minute fireworks from a barge moored in English Bay
South African Fireworks take place first Saturday
in the skies, followed next Saturday by Daehan Fireworks Co. of South Korea
All performances begin at 22 hours. PT
Love the Big Crowds
The three teams had to design their shows this year around the theme of love.
It is expected that 15,000 people will transit through the event. TransLink has added an additional service.
Meanwhile, Vancouver police are asking people to be patient in and out of places where visitors are seen because the roads are closed.
