Destiny 2 gets a new competitive PvP mode as part of its next DLC Forsaken
According to the latest issue of Game Informer, the new mode is called Breakthrough, a Crucible mode challenging players to capture points on the map.
Breakthrough has two different phases. In the first phase, two teams of four run to capture a single point called the Breaker. In the second phase, the team that captured the breaker will go to the attack to capture the chest of the other team, a new point on the map. Naturally, the team that does not capture the Breaker is responsible for defending his Vault from the attacking team in this second phase.
The mode has several turns, with the team successfully capturing or defending the vault of each turn. point. We do not know for the moment how many rounds each game will have.
Breakthrough will be the third competitive PvP mode of Destiny 2, joining Survival and Countdown, and its first addition since the launch of Destiny 2 in September 2017. The Crucible also offers three other uncompetitive PvP modes (Control, Clash and Supremacy) . Destiny 2: Forsaken will also bring the new Gambit mode
Destiny 2: Forsaken will be released on September 4 as part of Bungie's "Year 2" plans and will include a host of gameplay changes and the death of a popular personage.
