Explore Dr. Boom's lab in the upcoming Hearthstone Extension – The Boomsday Project

The next expansion of Hearthstone has been revealed and we will head to the laboratory of the biggest seven-drop blizzard ever printed in Dr. Boom.

The expansion is the Boomsday project and, from a video that someone clearly did not put to private, we know that the expansion will be on the science and other disasters. Take a look at the video below

But the important thing to note about this video is a new keyword – Magnetic.

If you play a card with Magnetic while you have a Mech in play, you can merge these two cards together. We saw Spider Bomb, a Mech Rare Hunter minion with 2/2 stats and the Deathrattle destroying a random minion enemy.

This sounds great to give your mechs a little more power while giving them extra abilities

is also a new type of spell – Projects. These spells benefit both you and your opponent. The video tells us that there are research projects and weapons, but no word on what they are just like Peter Whalen has been turned into a chicken in the Netherstorm.

Blizzard also introduces a new mechanism called Omega. Cards like the Omega Neutral Defender minion with 2/6 stats and Taunts will behave normally throughout the game but they get a bonus if you have ten mana crystals. Omega Defender, for example, gets +10 Attack for a cost of four Taunt Minion mana with 12/6 stats.

Blizzard also teased a new Warrior Hero card that you can see below before it reveals the Legendary Shaman – Electra Stormsurge. One mana costs three manas with 3/3 stats and the Battlecry: Your next spell that turn throws twice.

Hmmm, one wonders what this Hero card does.

There is also a strange, legendary spell Snape in the unstable element of Myra Blizzard says that he will hold a livestream where he will reveal cards on July 23 on Twitch and The Boomsday Project will be released August 7, 2018
