G02 BMW X4 is the subject of criticism from South Carolina, US

The Generation G02 BMW X4 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor F26 by offering a more compact SAC (sport activity coupe) model alongside the more conventional BMW X3.

The new face of the BMW family features the new, wider double grille, flanked by trapezoidal headlights. On the sides, the G02 X4 carries the revealing "hockey stick" of the current BMWs such as the G11 / 12 7 Series and the G30 5 Series, an implicit pattern on the X4 by a rear quarterfold and mid-door fold line .

The powertrain options we sampled included the xDrive M40d's six-liter in-line turbodiesel and the 2.0-liter xDrive 30i turbo petrol – it's the latter that we are most likely to receive in Malaysia, and so is the one we are focusing on here. A pity that the first is much less likely to do here because it is a pretty impressive diesel.

Exits of 252 hp and 350 Nm of torque of the 2.0-liter gasoline engine now commonplace are channeled on all fours via an automatic eight-speed gearbox, housed in a body that has grown in most external dimensions by compared to its predecessor F26.

How does all this translate the technological fundamentals of the X3, dressed in a sleeker roofline? Watch the video above to learn more and read our impressions of readers written here.
