The Grahamstown Choir KWANTU is a young choir created in 2017 by a group of students from the University of Rhodes and Youth and the community of communes of Rhini and Joza , Makana Municipality, Eastern Cape. Province of South Africa

The Choir was initiated by Kutlwano Tshekiso Kepadisa, a student at the university, at the age of 21. It was after realizing the lack of cultural activity and interaction between students and the community. As an experienced singer and conductor of choral and chamber music, he decided to use music as a platform to strengthen the social and community cohesion of the people of Grahamstown.

The choir was accepted Choir Games "the Olympics of Choirs", which will take place in Tshwane, South Africa from July 8 to 10, 2018. The organizers of the World Choir Games have waived the registration fees for the choir after realizing our pbadion and our commitment to participate in the competition

This is a remarkable achievement for a young choir like ours. The Grahamstown KWANTU Community Choir has also received many accolades and recommendations since its inception, including the National Arts Festival Committee, and is now part of the Grahamstown Creative City Project.

The strategic goal of the choir is to become The City of Grahamstown's ambbadador choir is the quintessence of what democracy represents in South Africa: providing a positive recreational activity for city residents. inclusive, multiracial, multicultural and intergenerational. This corresponds to the motto of the World Choir Games (WCG) "Various Voices – One Harmony" because our current choir is made up of people from different ethnic backgrounds, cultures and ages.

As our choir is composed mainly of students and young people, and is a young choir formed only 12 months ago, based in a city and province that are largely economically depressed, with unemployment and high poverty. We are appealing to our friends, family, supporters, and all those who love music and culture to help us realize our dreams of participating in the World Choir Games.

Our goal is to We will go especially to ensure our transportation and accommodation during our participation in the World Choir Games.

Our choir has just completed three wonderful shows at the National Arts Festival currently underway in Grahamstown, where we played part of our repertoire for the World Choir. Games, highly appreciated and applauded by the public.

We want to share this South African culture, united and diverse, with other choirs and onlookers on the world stage during the World Choir Games, and become cultural ambbadadors. For our people and our country.
