LG's V40 ThinQ is expected to arrive in October with five cameras, a design close to the telescope

Bottom line: While his handsets continue to receive positive reviews, LG is struggling to compete with the big hitters in the industry such as Samsung and Apple. But with a rumor of five cameras and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%, could the next V40 ThinQ be a real challenger for rival admiral ships?

LG's G7 ThinQ has received rather positive reviews in the short time that it has been available in the United States, but we are already looking at the next version of the company: its flagship V40 ThinQ. According to recent reports, the handset could arrive as early as Oct. 5, and it will feature a set of features that could help it stand out from the pack.

The Korean ETNews website reports that the V40 ThinQ will be equipped with five cameras. total, three at the back and two snappers face to face. Like the Huawei P20 Pro, the back of the camera has a triple lens configuration, which in this case consists of primary telephoto lenses 20MP, 16MP and 13MP. Both front-facing cameras will be used for 3D face recognition.

While more and more phone companies are trying to increase the screen-body ratio of their handsets, it seems like the V40 ThinQ no matter what device. The almost nonexistent frames mean that the screen should cover 90% of the front, placing it in the same range as Nexo de Vivo (91.24%) and the Lenovo Z5 (90%). Compared to other LG handsets, it is well above the 83% of the G7 ThinQ and 81% of the V30.

LG says something "different from the conventional" is expected for the V40's huge screen-body ratio. There are only super thin glbades left.

The V40 is thought to copy the G7 and has a notch, even though it would probably have the same ability to hide the cut by adding black bars to the sides. It will almost certainly pack a flagship Snapdragon 845-standard, and LG's Quad DAC, rear fingerprint sensor, and dedicated Google Assistant button on the side are also expected. One thing is still uncertain: will LG choose an OLED panel as with the V30 or with an LCD like the G7?
