Nigeria: Senator withdraws from Osun Governorate of Osun

A deputy, Babajide Omoworare, resigned from the presidency of the APC in the state of Osun

M. Omoworare represents the senatorial district of Osun East in the Senate, same district as the outgoing governor, Rauf Aregbesola,

The main governor holds in the state today to elect the candidate to represent the APC in the 22 September elections in Osun. PREMIUM TIMES reported on the 17 candidates for the contest, including Mr. Omoworare

The withdrawal of Mr. Omoworare was announced by his director of communications, Tunde Dairo, in a statement

"Given the obvious political realities that are beyond our control, Senator Babajide Omoworare will not introduce his Neighborhood Officers, mobilize his supporters and will not deploy resources for the July 20, 2018 APC primary elections.

"This development is intended to ensure cohesion of the party and badured victory at the election of the governor of September 22 in the state, "said Mr. Dairo
