Cansa's Annual Relay for Life will be held again at Hoërskool Bastion
Cansa Relay for Life is a fun, overnight team event that belongs to the community. "The event will begin at 6:00 pm on October 12th and finish at 6:00 am on October 13th and will offer all community members, young and old, the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer and to Honor our cancer survivors, "said Tarryn Human, a personal partner in Cansa.
She added that the teams are composed of 10 to 15 members, who camp around the track at night, where they enjoy the entertainment and camaraderie in a festival atmosphere. "We encourage teams to raise money in the area where the relay is held, to support the fight against cancer," said Tarryn
The Relay will be open with a survival ride to honor cancer survivors and their caregivers After sunset, everyone will participate in a Luminaria ceremony, where candles will be lit in bags of lights around the track, Tarryn explained: " These bags are dedicated to those who have lost their fight, to those who are still fighting as well as to those who have won their fight against cancer. "
To participate in this event will cost R100 per adult, and R50 for children from 12 to 18 years old. There is no charge for children under 12 years old.
