Los Angeles – Taylor Swift was screened in a widescreen version of the musical "Cats", in which will be pop singer's biggest role up to now, Variety entertainment publications and Hollywood Reporter said Friday. The 28-year-old singer, "Look What You Made Me Do", will join Jennifer Hudson, Oscar-winning singer and actress, James Corden, talk show host, and Ian McKellen, a renowned British actor, in the film, according to the publications.
"Cats" by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on a collection of poems by TS Eliot, was created in London in 1981 and was produced worldwide. The film version is a production of Working Title Films, which did not return requests for comments on the reports.
Swift, a 10 Grammy winner whose "Reputation" album was the biggest seller of 2017 in the United States, his first role in the romantic comedy "Valentine's Day" in 2010 [19659002] The Hollywood Reporter, citing sources close to the production, said Hudson should play Grizabella, whose character sings the famous ballad "Memory" of the show. Tom Hooper of Britain, whose past credits include Oscar's best picture "The King's Speech" and musical "The Miserables," will direct the film, which is scheduled to start shooting in Britain in November, Variety says .
