Spoilers follow for Ant-Man and Wasp and Avengers: The War of Infinity.
Ant-Man and the Bee-eater may have lightened the tone of Marvel's cinematic universe after the heavy procedures of Avengers: the war of infinity. the end of the second solo film for the MCU's smallest superhero has delivered another punch to fans all over the world.
The film's story ends with Paul Rudd's Scott Lang, Hope van Dyne's Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas's Hank Pym saving Janet van Dyne from Michelle Pfeiffer's Quantum Realm, where she was lost since the 1980s Janet, aka the original Wasp, emerges from this strange microverse a changed woman, now in command of some kind of mysterious powers that allow her temporarily, at least, to help Ghost to keep him together . In the end, Ghost escapes with his adoptive father Bill Foster, Hank and Janet set out to conquer a new life. another in a house on the beach, and Scott completes his two years of house arrest and can finally take his daughter to ice again. Except …
The first post-generic scene reveals that Team Ant-Man has come together to explore a little more the dangerous realm of Quantum. Hank and Janet designed a smaller version of the catwalk seen earlier in the film, and installed it at the back of Scott's van, Luis, for some reason.
That Ant-Man and Wasp take place before the events of the Infinite War, with the mid-credits scene happening right after the end of the war of infinity. However, this does not explain why Scott and the team were not trying to help in the battle against Thanos. At the very least, they had to see the New York attack on television. But for one reason or another, they decided to conduct their business and carry out Quantum Realm experiments rather than join the fight. (Of course, they were trying to help Ghost's recovery, so maybe that was a priority.)
As for the second end credits scene, which comes after the credits are over . It's a simple and short moment that is both funny and scary. The camera pbades through Scott 's house, where we see an emergency broadcast signal on the television – probably because half of the world has just disappeared. And then we see that the oversized ant that had served as a double to Scott's body throughout the movie just plays the drums, unaware of the horror that has unfolded. The scene then goes to a last title screen: "Ant-Man and the Bee-eater will come back" … But then a question mark appears at the end of this statement.
Will they come back? And how? We will have to wait for Avengers 4 to discover it!
