The ugliest dog in the world dies several weeks after winning the title

ANOKA, Minn. (AP) – A 9-year-old English bulldog died a few weeks after winning the ugliest dog contest of 2018.

Owner Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, told NBC channel "Today Zsa Zsa died in his sleep on Tuesday. Brainard said the dog was staying with his father and he found that she had died when he woke up in the morning.

Brainard says that Zsa Zsa has never shown much excitement, but that she knew that she was special.

The dogs of the annual competition display their imperfections. Competitors included a Chinese Black-headed Dachshund sheep, a Bulldog mixture with excessive wrinkled skin and a Pekinese named Wild Thang.
