Seventy-seven percent of all adults living with HIV are living in Namibia
AMSTERDAM / GENEVA, July 26, 2018- UNAIDS welcomes new data from the United States. survey showing that 77% of adults living with HIV in Namibia are virally removed. The Namibia Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (NAMPHIA) survey covered 24,000 people aged 0 to 64 years. "Namibia's concerted efforts to reach people living with HIV testing and treatment are delivering tremendous results," said Michel Sidibé, Executive Director. from UNAIDS. "UNAIDS will continue to help Namibia to test and care for all people living with HIV and to stimulate HIV prevention efforts in Namibia to further reduce new HIV infections."
NAMPHIA United States of America and conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Columbia University and local governments and non-governmental partners from June to December 2017.
