Netflix dropped the first trailer for the next series The Good Cop by Andy Breckman, the creator of the Emmy Award -winning Monk .

The comedy focuses on the odd couple relationship between a father and son on both sides of the law. Tony Danza ( Don Jon, Taxi ) plays Tony Sr., a former disgraced NYPD officer on parole who has never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr., (opera singer Josh Groban) an honest and obsessive cop.

"Many cop movies contain dark, provocative material: psycho-badual killers, twisted, sinister detectives, many of them address the most controversial issues of the day, and I look at many of them. God bless them all but the show I want to produce is playful, family-oriented and a celebration of old-fashioned puzzle solving, "said showrunner Breckman, who also produced alongside Randy Zisk ( Bones, Monk ), and Howard Klein ( The Office, The Mindy Project ).

The first season of the Good Cop will consist of ten episodes of the hour and will be available for broadcast on September 21, 2018. Alongside Danza and Groban is Frank Whaley of Luke Cage Isiah Whitlock Jr. (who played Clay Davis in The Wire ) and Monica Barbaro from UnReal

The trailer, whose p Anointing climax is Danza using the potion to get his son a seat on an ethics panel discussion, can be viewed below. [19459093]
