'Zoom Challenge': Why it's dangerous for babies, children and pets

The new viral video trend to spark controversy has been dubbed the Zoom Challenge.

While in the beginning this may seem like a race to the finish, it's actually an activity that raises red flags for many parents due to its rapid movement-type shot bad, children bang their heads against hard surfaces.

Put on rapper Lil Yachty's "Mickey" song, many videos show little kids – and even pets – alone in the frame. the lyrics, "Trappin 'in the streets, run through the packs as a track meet – ZOOM!" can be heard.

At the word "zoom", children are then pulled out of the screen by their legs – and in some cases, the movement occurs so quickly that the heads of the little ones hit the ground

Videos have received criticism and negative feedback, with a user writing, "Give these kids the badlash" and another, "This is an abuse."

] The new "challenge" is the latest in a series of stunts that have resulted in a viral trend.

In January, health experts warned of the potentially deadly social-media craze called "The Tide Pod Challenge".
