The study followed 212 people with an average systolic blood pressure of 130 mm / HG, is considered as to the limit of being unhealthy.
It was found that people enjoying a daily nap saw their blood pressure decrease by 5 mm / HG.
Researcher Dr Manolis Kallistratos I said:
Midday sleep seems to reduce blood pressure levels to the same extent as other lifestyle changes. According to our findings, if someone has the luxury of napping during the day, he may also have benefits in terms of high blood pressure. The nap can be easily adopted and usually costs nothing. The higher the blood pressure, the more efforts to reduce it appear more pronounced.
