Alabama Adds 1,170 New Coronavirus Cases; hospitalizations are highest since August

Alabama has added 1,170 more coronavirus cases since yesterday, with hospital admissions reaching their highest level since August.

Figures from the Alabama Department of Public Health at 10 a.m. on Nov. 9 show the state has recorded 204,857 cases of COVID-19 since March. Of the recent increase, 980 were confirmed cases, 190 were suspected.

The state has had 3,084 deaths from COVID-19.

Yesterday, 1,060 people were hospitalized in the state with the virus, up from 985 the day before. Current hospitalizations are the highest since August 21, when 1,168 were hospitalized.
