Alabama added more than 3,500 COVID cases to its total.
The latest figures from the Alabama Department of Public Health show the state has recorded 757,893 cases of COVID since March 2020, of which 3,651 have been added since the last day.
Alabama added 66 deaths to its total, bringing the number to 12,784. Not all deaths occurred on the last day, and death reports can take up to two weeks to be reported to ADPH.
Alabama currently has 2,401 people hospitalized for COVID – 2,355 adults and 46 pediatric patients. Among adult patients, 84% are unvaccinated, 4% are partially vaccinated and 12% are fully vaccinated. The state has 1,592 intensive care patients out of 1,549 staffed intensive care beds. Forty-eight percent of intensive care patients have COVID.
There are 25 pregnant COVID-19 patients hospitalized including 2 in intensive care. Among the 46 pediatric patients hospitalized with the virus, 21 are in intensive care and 7 are ventilated.
