We have never been so happy to see a 79-year-old return to work. Three months after announcing that her pancreatic cancer was in "virtual remission" Peril! Host Alex Trebek is back and busy recording episodes of the show, THR reports. Humbly sandwiched in the middle of a YouTube video announcing the 36th season of the show, Trebek addresses those who have followed his battle with the disease: "I've had a lot of chemotherapy and, luckily, it's now finished. I'm repairing, and that's all I can hope for now. "

This is a pretty stoic statement, given that Trebek has been diagnosed with stage 4 disease – which, according to the American Cancer Society, has a sobering 3-year survival rate of five years. But what to expect from a man who, when interviewed by the CBC in May, vented the cramps (extremely painful) to the stomach that he said he had experienced on television. Peril! together, simply saying, "I am Canadian?"

Peril! Season 36 will begin next month.
