Garret Miller of Texas faces five criminal charges stemming from the Capitol uprising, including trespassing offenses and death threats. Miller allegedly tweeted “AOC murder,” according to court documents.
He also said the policeman who killed a Trump supporter in the attack “deserves to die” and will not “survive long” because he[g] season.”
Prosecutors said in recently released court documents that Miller posted numerous articles on social media before and during the attack, saying a “civil war could begin” and “the next time we bring in the arms.”
He was arrested on Wednesday, according to the Justice Department. Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to keep him in jail pending trial, and a detention hearing is scheduled for Monday.
