All eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 in Lake County reopened near the Deerfield suburb after being closed for three hours after a shooting Sunday, authorities said.
Illinois State Police said soldiers were called to the scene near milepost 23 at around 11:51 a.m. after a man reported he was shot while driving on the freeway. .
The man was not hit by gunfire during the attack, authorities said.
All eastbound lanes of the highway between Half Day Road and milepost 23 were closed at 12:15 p.m. for an investigation into the shooting, and reopened around 3:10 p.m., officials said.
An investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
