More and more people are getting their TV and movie content exclusively from streaming sources. While Netflix is clearly the undisputed king of the various streaming services, several companies have begun to take their share of the pie and one of the most promising is the new service of the Walt Disney Company, simply called Disney +.
With one of the most comprehensive content catalogs, dating back almost 100 years, Disney has the potential to give a lot of power to its new streaming service. Would it be worth adding it to your existing options or even replacing another service with this one? Here's everything we know about Disney + to help you make that decision.
When will Disney + be launched and what will the cost be?
In August 2017, we learned that Disney was considering launching its own streaming service. From the first day, we knew that Disney was planning a launch in 2019 and, as we approached that date, we were told that the service would be arriving late in the calendar year. The service also received an official name at the end of 2018, Disney +, a name that made sense, since Disney's SVN ESPN service used the same nomenclature. That was what we knew until the special event of Disney Investor Day in April 2019, which finally provided us with two vital pieces of information.
Disney + will be launched in the US on November 12, 2019. Disney appeared to use the United States and North America interchangeably during the announcement. It seems that Canada will get the service at the same time.
Western Europe will receive Disney + in a deployment that will begin in late 2019 and continue into early 2020. The Asia-Pacific region will see Disney + begin by the end of this year, but is expected to end in 2020 Eastern Europe and Latin America will start seeing Disney + by the end of 2020.
The prize is the most interesting information on Disney +. This will cost you $ 6.99 a month, with an option to purchase a full year in advance for $ 69.99. This will make Disney + about half the price of what Netflix is currently buying, and it will only be a dollar more per month than Hulu costs with the advertising medium, and Disney + will be ad-free.

How will Disney + work?
If you know most of the existing video streaming applications, Disney + does not look so different. On the technical side, the content will be available in 4K HDR for compatible screens.

What can I watch on Disney +?
