PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting 463 new cases of coronavirus and 20 more deaths, including a child.
Of the newly reported cases, 285 are confirmed from 1,271 PCR tests. There are 178 probable cases.
The health department said the new cases were between 1 month and 99 years old with a median age of 41.
The dates for positive tests are January 2 to 19.
There have been 3,832 hospitalizations in Allegheny County since the start of the epidemic. Of these, 776 patients required intensive care and 290 were put on ventilation.
The county-wide death toll stands at 1,245. Deaths reported today include a child under the age of 10. Of the 20 other patients who succumbed to the coronavirus, two were in their sixties, four in their sixties, five in their 80s and one or the other in their 90s.
The health department said it had no further information to disclose about the deceased child.
One death was reported in August, nine in December and 10 in January.
There have been a total of 65,577 cases of coronavirus among residents of Allegheny County since the start of the pandemic.
