Amazon Prime Video is working on a shuffle feature

Amazon brings a shuffle button to Prime Video, allows users to choose a series, and play a shuffle episode. Android police first spotted the feature on Android devices.

The feature can be used by viewers who know what show they want to watch but don’t care to watch in a specific order. Shuffling episodes seems ideal for anyone who has a favorite sitcom that they enjoy playing in the background while doing other things around the house. However, as Android Police points out, Amazon’s shuffle feature can only be used after choosing a season of a show, which limits its usefulness.

Amazon Prime isn’t the only service testing a shuffle feature. After several tests and different names, Netflix finally confirmed earlier this year that a shuffle feature would be available on the streamer.

“It really works for us where our members can basically tell us that they just want to skip navigation entirely, click a button and we’ll pick a title for them just to play instantly,” said Greg Peters, COO. and product manager. , describing the feature during the Netflix Q4 call in January.

Unlike the Prime shuffle button discovered by Android Police, Netflix will feature titles from the entire content library, based on previously watched content and viewing preferences.
